Hey, I'm Cate!

I'm an eighth-generation Texan, but I now call DC home. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from American University with degrees in Musical Theater and Communication Studies. Today, I perform, teach, and choreograph. Ask me about what I'm currently reading, my new favorite recipes, or my attempt at TikTok fame.

Some fun facts about me:

- I went to an all-girls school for 13 years

- Murphy beds terrify me

- I recently joined the Artistic Council at The Puppet Company

Performance Work:

For as long as she can remember, Cate knew she would be involved in the performing arts. Her years of ballet, tap, jazz, concert choir, and show choir prepared her for a career on the stage.

At American University, Cate earned a BA in Musical Theater where she took a variety of courses to expand her skillset. She is experienced in physical theater, Shakespeare, object theater, and Linklater technique.

Now, Cate works across the DMV in a variety of performance styles. Her work in children's theater has taught her puppeteering, show development, and how to understudy. In her recent plays, she is known for her comedic timing and has enhanced her performance of heightened text. Cate's diverse theater experiences have made her proficient at capturing the hearts of audiences of all ages.

Choreography work:

Cate is an established educational theater choreographer end educator. Cate has worked with students across all ages, from Pre-K to college.

You can check out more on her choreography page.
